Hyzer Creek Randomness

Post by Scoontar » Sun Sep 23, 2007 12:29 pm

Played Hyzer yesterday. My Dad played the first 3 holes. My mom thought it was to rough for her, so she threw on hole 1, then watched us. My Dad really liked it, loved the exercise, and being in the woods.

I practiced lots of drives, etc, so no real score for me. My highlight was almost aceing hole 3 in front of my Dad, I hit basket-using a Wizard-going straight at it. Drop in Bird.

Can't wait to go back to Hyzer-when I do I will put in a couple hours of labor.

Thanks for all your hard work Morgan.

I would like to thank Alan Rosa for sponsoring a pin yesterday.

Every pin sponsorship is a help and makes the course belong to us all.

Doot's sponsoring a Pin after the Battle. Yeah Right!

Played Hyzer today, while my Mom practiced Tai Chi Cha on hole 1's Tee. She thought it was a fantastic place for TCC.

I splashed chains on hole 5 for a 3-Disc popped crazily out landing 40' from the pin.

3 on hole 8.

Nailed top basket on hole 11 thought it was going to be an Ace. Landed 40' away.

Splashed chains on 17 from 150' out for a bird only to see it fall out the back.

Fun day- nice tee on 17.

at the batte i had one of my longest drives ever on hole #12.....

2nd round i was almost to the creek on my drive. the only bad part is it was just a little bit too much to the right hand side of the fairway. i was on "this" side of the creek, near where the old #17 tee used to be, under a small pine tree. i almost didnt find it, thank you Corey D's wife (sorry i forgot your name)

id say thats damn near 600'

I think i got a 6 the first round........
I ended up playing the second round with Josh and his son Noah(he's 11 i think). He told me he watches us big kids trying to drive the green in one shot and thought that if we laid off the power a bit and threw like he does(his max throw is about 150ft) we'd score lower on that hole. So i used my 07 Ace Race disc(Impact) for the entire hole and it worked.

Sound advice from an 11 year old !! I keep telling everone....... Look for that kid to be the Champ one day.

Lanky here are some stats for you that combine 3 tournaments.

http://www.hyzercreek.com/stats.htm

1. Hole 16 has been eagled once (Kurt Waggoner)

2. Hole 12 was eagled once (Mike Broderick)

3. Hole 18 has been eagled twice (both times by Greg Kurtz).

Hole 12 I missed a 650 foot tee shot when my disc only went 350 feet. It would have gone 650, but I didn't throw it far enough.

Hole 5, I missed a 300 foot putt for a deuce (double eagle). On my next throw I missed a 150 foot putt for eagle, then I missed a 45 foot putt for birdie, then missed a 15 foot putt for par and took a drop in bogie.
