Re: Snow report 2014-15
With the snow settling, errant warming trends, rain, etc., have you ever considered recording given snowfall measurements with a yard stick? Not only could you measure a recent snowfall, but also and (maybe) more valuable a total amount of snow in a given area. It might help with actually getting people to go there if they knew what is actually on the ground. thank you

get shoveling! hahaha
seriously knowing how much is on the ground is a question I was about to ask prior to reading hitchcock's post...
so how deep is the snow on average out there?

With all of the snow reports, I had assumed Hyzer was pretty much unplayable throughout the winter. Is this usually the case?

I think there's a balancing act between Morgan's decree (I'm sure soon to be shared), depth of snow, temperature, and level of "cabin-fever".
my thoughts:
I've made it out there every winter each of the past few (4?) years. there have been a couple times where it was like "ok, 9's enough" and/or "i think i'll leave hole 18 alone today"... Almost got the AWD car stuck in the lot one time when Morgan wasn't there, rocked it out
personally i like snow not over the top of my boots (preferably much lower), I don't really like going <40 degrees, these two factors are influenced by the "cabin fever factor" ("it's been 5 weeks!" i'll suck it up for over-ankle snow and 35 degrees and I bought gators for the specific purpose of winter-disc) and finally, of course, Morgan's decree overrules all. If Morgan says, "stay off my lawn!" it's probably best to stay off his lawn
Winter conditions is when the "back-up" discs get used too...
Morgan, how deep is it now?

The old beast is a Ford. The rust bucket with a plow is a Toyota.

Plowed the parking lot again, looks like that rust bucket Toyota is going to work out. It did a great job.

20 inches of snow in the parking lot when I got there this morning. Was that a problem for the rust bucket?
No problem at all. The Toyota said bring it on, did a great job.

Re: Snow report 2014-15
I'm having a pre-April Showers ice-breaker party on Wed April 22. It's way too early to try to shovel now, the snow is 2 feet deep and hard as a rock. Tim D already broke my shovel trying. By April 22 it will be ready to shovel and smash the ice off the tee pads, like we do every year.
After the ice breaker, round of drunken disc golf, beer provided by the course owner.
