Unknown animal poop

Does anybody know what kind of animal poop this is. Took this pic yesterday on hole 8.

We were guessing wolverine

My guess is a Deer. Longer then most deer pellets but still a deer.

Sure it's not a fox? Looks like a canine species... maybe a coyote?

hmmm, doesn't look like deer or coyote to me. interesting.

OK, sent pic to my sister who is a Fisheries Biologist for the State if Maine. She has sent it to the mammal experts. Waiting for a reply. I still say deer.

My sister tells me that it is Ruffed Grouse! Not a deer or any other mammal. Had me fooled. It's a ground roosting site. The Maine Wildlife bird guy says Grouse. I have seen them at hole #7 last winter. who would of thunk it?

Shad, You are very funny. I thought of the three stooges too! BTW, Zombie dung should have more bone fragments in it and look more like that of a predator. LOL
