There is a big cherry tree in the middle of the fairway about 100 feet short of the pin. Normally I like trees like this, when you get this close to a pin, to make it challenging, like a sand trap in golf (NEVER near the tee pad because that's not challenging that's stupid). However, because 16 is a par 5 the second shot is kind of like a second tee shot. Everybody knows the landing zone on 16 is down and to the left, to set up a second loooong shot towards the pin. From that spot, a really great throw down the middle of the fairway could set you up for a two stroke birdy, or even an eagle, but if the throw is a few inches off you hit that big cherry and that's too far away for finess for anybody to be that accurate, and I don't think a truly great shot down the middle should be penalized.
I also know that cherry makes the best firewood. Today I will play George Washington, and I ain't be telling no lie.
