I suspect a lot of the trash is from before it was a park. The sandy conditions mean things last a long time.

First off Gene and Co. Second. Made the mistake of not taking a shower right away when I got home yesterday. Just pulled 5 yes thats right 5 little tiny ticks off of myself. I was wearing long pants too! Be careful and have someone inspect your bod ASAP! Sorry I forgot to mention the tick problem. ...

Re: Having a discussion about Doubles A/B/C pooling.
Kevin, I cannot reach ANY holes. Yet there are strategies to par and even birdie. Our ability to throw good approaches, rescues and to putt can definitely help a team compete. So, does a short driver make someone a B or even a C player? Any doubles team that does not have one long arm is extremely u...

Re: J-Park Course improvements, repair, additions, etc.
I feel like I have to defend myself here. I did not want to start hauling cardboard out to cover poison Ivy at the J without some agreement and approval that this is a good idea. I also made a comment that this is an easy task which can be done by many. That was meant to encourage people to help, bo...

Re: J-Park Course improvements, repair, additions, etc.
There really is a lot of poison ivy all over the course. In my experience Round Up applied to the weed whacked plants works best. Some of the ideas on this website are more toxic than Round Up, but the cardboard idea might be one we can use at the J. Layer down some cardboard (and/or newspaper) on t...

Last year most of the 12 holes in the Chasm were up or down 150 steps. Some up and down. I don't know why they are playing 45 holes. 9 on the short course and 18 in the chasm would be enough of a work out. Playing in the Chasm was super fun.

Sunday we saw lots of yellow jackets building ground nests on the hill on hole #1. On both the north and south sandy areas created by the bikers.

Just an idea for first Thursday in Sept: Regular round from the blues, no cash prize. Points count for season totals. Cost $1 for season end party, and season end payout.

This year it is 9 holes at the campground + 18 holes in the chasm then 18 more holes at the campground. I will have to play a practice round of 45 at the J to see if I have the stamina.

Re: Taxes and Disc Golf Winnings, Cash and Plastic
Sooooo... I'd say I was wrong then. Well that depends, if you have a profit motive then it can be written off and you were wrong. But no profit motive, it is just a hobby, then it cannot be written off. See more explanation in first post. And I better write this IRS disclaimer mandated for all writ...

I am an accountant and registered tax preparer. You can deduct a disc golf loss against your other income. But if audited you must be able to show you have a profit motive. Generally need to make a profit 3 out of 5 years. Call me if you have more questions or need your taxes done.

Lost a pink towel with Hyzer Flip on it. On or after #5.
Found a lot of empty beer cans/bottles on many tees. C'mon people if you can carry it in, carry it out.

Great idea Morgan. Instead we can call them: Wimpy (from Popeye), or Dr Zachary Smith (from Lost In Space), or Milk Toast Man (from the song by The McLovins), or Mr Bill (from Saturday Night Live), or Muffin Man (Frank Zappa song), or Mr. Limpet, or Walter Mitty, or Dr Jekyll, or Clark Kent, or... t...

All you can do, on every hole, is expect to do the best you can do. Focus on the performance of each shot, not its value.
